This is not least due to the precise adjustment options using high-quality stainless steel clamps and the integrated pad made of natural rubber. EDDYCAM camera straps and hand straps are handmade in a small manufactory in Bavaria, Germany. EDDYCAM is “Made in Germany”. Learn more about our camera straps also via our blog.
Decades of experience in the field of photography and photographic equipment have been realized in the concepts of our camera straps and hand loops. The high quality of the handmade elk leather camera straps is largely due to the materials used. Our tannery in Finland selects only the best hides for further processing. In addition, every EDDYCAM undergoes many strict quality controls before dispatch.
The elk leather camera strap can be used anywhere. Whether oppressive heat, icy cold or high humidity – EDDYCAM is an (almost) indestructible camera accessory. The durable leather is coated with a special wax. Even the most unfavorable weather conditions cannot harm our products. This treatment makes EDDYCAM camera straps and hand loops particularly easy to care for and clean. Find out more about cleaning EDDYCAM here.
EDDYCAM sources its elk leather from a tannery in Finland. Scandinavian elk leather is used for production without exception. The skins come from wild elk, which are hunted under strict conditions. The moose is a common, non-endangered species in northern Europe. In the absence of natural enemies, moose must be hunted to keep the population in check and ensure forest protection.

How to use the eddycam elk leather camera strap
Thanks to their special shape, EDDYCAM camera straps are comfortable to wear even under extreme conditions. You decide how to carry your camera most comfortably. Basically, it can be worn in three ways:
On the shoulder,
Around the neck or on the back of the neck,
Diagonally on the body (“cross”)
There are two ways to attach an EDDYCAM camera strap to your camera. They depend on your specific camera model.
For cameras with fixed eyelets or with round or triangular rings for 12 mm tape material, proceed as follows:
Pull the stainless steel clamps all the way up on both sides.
Place the camera strap around the way you want to carry your camera later.
Feed the nylon strap through the stainless steel strap clamp from below.
Re-insert the tape on the other side of the clamp to thread the stainless steel clamp.
Then pull the strap through the eyelet located directly on the camera or through the round or triangular ring attached to the camera.
Now pull the band first through the lower opening of the stainless steel clamp, then through the upper stainless steel clamp.
Finally, tighten the connecting strap for secure attachment.
Finally, check that the attachment is secure.
Some EDDYCAM models have two stainless steel clips on each side. On the one hand, this serves to securely fasten even the heaviest camera models, but mainly to fix the protruding tape material.
If your camera only has small round eyelets without connection rings (e.g. Leica M), simply order high-quality camera rings in our online store under the term “Special accessories”. Then simply proceed as described above to attach the strap.
To fit the strap perfectly and make the settings identical for both connecting straps, simply follow the instructions below:
Pull the stainless steel clips all the way up on both sides.
Place the camera strap around the way you want to carry your camera later.
Feed the connecting band through the stainless steel band clamp from below.
Re-insert the tape on the other side of the clamp to thread the stainless steel clamp.
Then pull the strap through the eyelet located directly on the camera or through the round or triangular ring that will later be attached to the camera eyelet.
Attention: If you want to wear your camera strap diagonally on your body, we recommend that you do not shorten the strap. To do this, you need the longest possible length of the camera strap.
If you decide to shorten the tape, proceed as follows: Carefully cut off the excess connecting tape with scissors and heat the ends in a heat source (e.g. flame) so that the individual threads fuse together. Be careful not to injure yourself or damage the belt.
The leather of our camera straps is completely dyed through. This approach makes the elk leather particularly soft and grippy; a natural look is maintained. That’s why our camera straps are especially colorfast – with normal use, you don’t have to worry. However, stains are possible if you wear the belt for a particularly long time, expose it to excessive heat or sweat excessively.
EDDYCAM elk leather camera straps are designed for use in extreme conditions. An EDDYCAM is therefore very comfortable to wear even under such conditions. The edges of the camera strap are designed to cause as little friction on the skin as possible. In extreme humidity, the EDDYCAM can absorb sweat or rain like a sponge. This is harmless. Simply allow your elk leather belt to air dry for one to two days at normal room temperature. Hair dryer, heater, iron, microwave and clothes dryer are not suitable for drying, because they can damage the leather.
