EDDYCAM is the world's first ergonomic camera strap made from elk leather. The EDDYCAM camera strap was developed for demanding individualists with different preferences and needs. The belts are available in four different model series: There are one- and two-tone series with and without contrasting seams. The camera strap itself is available in eight colors - that makes a total of almost 100 variants. The straps are available in four widths, so there is the right strap for every camera model and wearer. By the way: EDDYCAM camera straps are also ideal for binoculars.
The shoulder strap is extremely comfortable to wear, extremely resilient and also a very individual camera accessory. Thanks to EDDYCAM, you can carry your camera for hours without pulling your neck or shoulder - our camera straps made of elk leather are particularly cuddly. Last but not least, this is due to the precise adjustment options provided by high-quality stainless steel clamps and the integrated cushion made of natural rubber. In addition, most camera straps are made by hand in a small factory in Bavaria. EDDYCAM is "Made in Germany". Find out more about The Brand our camera straps.
In the concepts Our camera straps have many years of experience in the field of photography and photographic equipment. The high quality of the handmade camera straps made of elk leather is largely due to the materials used. For example, our tannery in Finland selects only the best hides for further processing. In addition, an EDDYCAM belt goes through many strict quality controls before shipping.
The camera strap made of elk leather can be used anywhere. Whether oppressive heat, icy cold or high humidity - EDDYCAM is an (almost) indestructible camera accessory. The durable leather is coated with a special wax. Even the most unfavorable weather conditions cannot harm our harnesses. This treatment also makes the EDDYCAM tapes particularly easy to care for and clean. Learn more about cleaning your elk leather camera strap here .
EDDYCAM sources its elk leather from a tannery in Finland. Only Scandinavian elk leather is used for production. The skins come from wild moose that are hunted under strict conditions. The moose is a common non-endangered species in northern Europe. In the absence of natural predators, moose must be hunted to keep the population in check and protect the forests.

Use of the eddycam camera strap made of elk leather

Thanks to their special shape, EDDYCAM camera straps are comfortable to wear even under extreme conditions. You decide how you carry your camera most comfortably. Basically, it can be worn in three ways:
On the shoulder,
Around the neck or on the back of the neck
Diagonal on the body (“cross”)
There are two ways to attach an EDDYCAM camera strap to your camera. They depend on your particular camera model.
For cameras with fixed eyelets, or with round or triangular rings for 12mm tape, do the following:
Pull the stainless steel clips all the way up on both sides.
Put the camera strap around in the way you want to carry your camera later.
Feed the connecting strap through the stainless steel strap clamp from below.
Re-insert the tape on the other side of the clamp to thread the stainless steel clamp.
Then thread the strap through the eyelet located directly on the camera or through the round or triangular ring that will later be attached to the camera eyelet.
Now pull the strap first through the lower opening of the stainless steel clamp, then through the upper stainless steel clamp.
Finally, tighten the connecting strap for a secure attachment.
Finally, check that the attachment is secure.
Some EDDYCAM models have two stainless steel clips on each side. On the one hand, this serves to securely fasten even the heaviest camera models, but mainly to fasten the protruding tape material.
If your camera only has small round eyelets without connecting rings (e.g. Leica M), simply order such rings in our Online Store under the term "special accessories". Then simply follow the steps above to attach the strap.
In order for the strap to be perfectly adjusted and the settings for both connection straps to be identical, simply follow the instructions below:
Pull the stainless steel clips all the way up on both sides.
Put the camera strap around in the way you want to carry your camera later.
Feed the connecting strap through the stainless steel strap clamp from below.
Re-insert the tape on the other side of the clamp to thread the stainless steel clamp.

Caution: If you want to wear your camera strap at an angle, we recommend that you do not shorten the strap. To do this, you need the longest possible length of the camera strap.
If you decide to shorten the ribbon, do the following: Use scissors to carefully cut off the excess connecting ribbon and heat the ends in a heat source (such as a flame) to fuse the individual strands together. Be careful not to injure yourself or damage the strap.
The leather of our camera straps is completely dyed through. This approach makes the elk leather particularly soft and easy to grip; a natural look is retained. That's why our camera straps are extra colourfast - no need to worry with normal use. However, stains are possible if you wear the belt for a particularly long time, expose it to excessive heat, or sweat excessively.
EDDYCAM camera straps made of elk leather were developed for use in extreme conditions. An EDDYCAM is therefore very comfortable to wear even under such conditions. The edges of the camera strap are designed to cause as little friction as possible on the skin. In extreme humidity, the EDDYCAM can absorb sweat or rain like a sponge. That's harmless. Simply allow your elk leather belt to air dry at normal room temperature for a day or two. Hair dryers, heaters, irons, microwaves and tumble dryers are not suitable for drying as they can damage the leather.
